Creating an Award-winning Inclusivity Campaign

In their award-winning campaign “The Fight for Fair,” National Association of REALTORS® and Havas showcased a commitment to inclusivity through their messaging, ad buys and strategies. Realtors were positioned and empowered to be part of the solution to removing institutional racism in the home selling process. The campaign connected well with the people most affected by current inequities, and it effectively created a sense of unity and togetherness.

Through this Signature Speaker Series event, REALTORS® and Havas will present a case study of this stunning campaign, which won two 2021 BrandSmart Awards: the Cause Marketing Award and the Grand Champion Award. They’ll highlight the must-haves for today and tomorrow’s campaigns to authentically embrace and message around diversity, equity and inclusion.

This event will be live at Havas and simulcast via Zoom. In-person capacity will be capped at 30 registrants to allow for social distancing. Food and drinks are not allowed in the venue.

The health, safety and comfort of our members, presenters, and guests is our primary concern. To that end, beginning November 10, 2021 and until further notice:

• All AMA Chicago in-person meetings require all attendees to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination on-site before entering the meeting venue. Unvaccinated attendees will not be admitted. There are no exceptions to this rule.
• Per CDC and City of Chicago guidelines, face coverings are required for all attendees over the age of 2 in our indoor venues.
• We will continue to provide virtual attendance for some events and/or recordings of events whenever possible.

If our venue partners change their requirements for gatherings, we will edit the in-person requirement here and email all registered attendees.

We reserve the right to change this event format to be virtual (via Zoom) given City of Chicago mandates for indoor gatherings. If the event format changes, we will email all registrants.

Karen Bebart

Karen Bebart is the Director of Consumer Strategy and Brand Advertising with the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, the world’s largest professional trade association. She oversees the relationship with Havas media and creative agencies, and all aspects of their consumer campaign supporting the REALTOR® brand and the organization’s 1.5 million members. Karen has held a number of marketing, strategy and communication roles at NAR, and previously, Account Executive roles at Marsh & McLennan.

Lewis Mcvey

Group Creative Director | Havas

Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Lewis made his way to advertising via furniture making in his hometown, teaching English in Budapest, and acting in films no one has ever seen. A writer by trade, Lewis established himself as an award-winning thinker and skilled team leader at some of the best agencies in the business, including Hill Holliday, DDB, MRM McCann, Digitas and now Havas. A true 360 thinker, he brings a wealth of relevant experience to the National Association of REALTORS® team he’s led for the last 3 years, including American Express (Small Business Saturday, card services), ExxonMobil (nationwide retail) and a digitally-led, brand relaunch of the travel brand Orbitz. More recently he has also led cross-channel creative for CITI. Outside of the office, his interests include cycling, photography, and urbanism.
