Open Board Positions
The President-Elect’s main function is to shadow the President and assist him/her while preparing for the upcoming year. Under guidance from the President, the President-Elect will become familiar with the processes and procedures required to run the chapter. The Vice President of Communications is responsible for all marketing communications functions for the AMA Chicago chapter. The position reports directly to the President of the Board and manages all director level positions on the committee. The ideal candidate is someone who is a strategist at heart with deep experience managing a communications team of volunteers and has worked with a subscription-based product. The Vice President of Membership Relations is responsible for creating a plan to drive member retention and acquisition. This role reports directly to the President of the Board. This person leads a team of directors and other volunteers. The ideal candidate has the ability to work cross-functionally, the foresight to plan ahead of time and a mindset that requires a combination of creating strategy and executing on initiatives. The Communications Director works closely with the VP, Communications and the Communications team to ensure completion and execution of communication tactics. This position is responsible for maintaining coordination among Communications team members to insure all campaign/promotion messaging is in harmony. The Director, Sponsorship is responsible for procuring both cash and in-kind sponsorships for the Chapter as well as performing all the duties specified by the Constitution and Bylaws or those approved by the Board of Directors. The Director of BrandSmart is a high-profile role responsible for leading the successful execution of the AMA Chicago’s premiere annual conference, BrandSmart. The position reports directly to the VP Executive Programming and recruits and manages a committee to plan the conference. The ideal candidate is someone who is a senior marketing leader with conference management experience and has a large industry network that he or s/he can tap into for speakers and committee volunteers. The Director of Analytics is responsible for analyzing and mining existing member data and supporting the strategy to understand the organization’s membership through data. This role reports directly to the VP, Marketing Insight. The ideal candidate has the strategic and tactical skillset needed to gather information from existing sources and research, understand data deeply, extract the most relevant insights, and use insights to advise chapter leaders on how to stay relevant and provide value to membership. The Director of Membership Acquisition is responsible for developing and implementing a plan to drive member acquisition. This role reports directly to the VP, Membership and oversees several volunteers. The ideal candidate has the ability to lead a team to think strategically about ways to drive memberships within the Chicagoland community, as well as coordinate activities to drive membership results. The Director, Volunteer Engagement (formerly called Director, Volunteer Management) is responsible for developing and implementing a plan to drive volunteer recruitment and engagement. This role reports directly to the VP of Membership Relations and oversees several volunteers.
