Connex at Catalyst Ranch | May 11, 2022
Stay connected through Connex! We’re bringing together colleagues, friends, entrepreneurs and creative professionals. Connect with fellow marketers to talk over hot marketing topics in small groups.
This event is FREE for AMA Chicago members and $20 for guests. Join AMA Chicago for just $149 to attend this and every monthly event for FREE – a $300 value!
Round Robin Discussion Groups
The event features small group breakouts hosted by topic experts. Every 20 minutes, we’ll rotate tables to hear from a new expert and meet new peers. By the end of the event, you’ll have been in a discussion group led by each of the three experts. Or, if you love one topic, stay there the whole night while peers rotate around you!
Topic 1: Not an Order Taker: Be a leader in account management
Dealing with a difficult client? Struggling to be a good partner? Worn out from shrinking budgets? Got whiplash from the constant and changing requests?
Account Managers have a difficult job. They’re inundated with contacts, contracts, and more. They’re under pressure to please both their clients and their C-suite. In this session, we’ll dive into (5) common challenges and how to overcome them
Topic 2: The Psychology of Branding
The AMA definition of a brand boils down to “symbol” – but is that enough? Considering how emotional consumers are about some of their favorite brands, looking at branding from the lens of the social sciences may provide more insight – and more tools – to creating brands customers love. Kristian Aloma, PhD will lead this conversation about branding, share what the academic literature has to say, and facilitate a discussion about the best ways to bring psychology into your branding efforts.

Topic 3: Measuring Marketing Impact
Let’s discuss how to simplify the core goals of marketing, the ways to measure that impact, and how to present it to your leadership team.
