Holly Hale, Associate Email Marketing Manager, FTD, LLC

Holly Hale is the Associate Email Marketing Manager for FTD, LLC. She currently manages the retention channel for the FTD brand, as well as email campaigns for partners. A self-proclaimed email geek, Holly loves digging into data to drive future efforts and testing everything from subject lines, to templates, to emojis for maximum effectiveness. Hailing from New Orleans, Holly was bitten by the story-telling bug as a kid, which fueled her drive to become a news anchor. One pricey degree, an Emmy nomination, and a few career changes later have landed her in a different type of storytelling situation, but one that’s by far her favorite. Tracy Samantha Schmidt is a writer and social media strategist. She began her career as a reporter at TIME Magazine, where she covered a range of topics—including the rise of both Facebook and Wikileaks. Tracy went on to co-found ChicagoNow, the Chicago Tribune’s blog network, and then to lead social media strategy for Crain Communications, the publisher of Advertising Age. A passionate educator, she has also taught at the University of Chicago, DePaul University and the University of Illinois.
